Worm bins are fun and easy things to do. They also help the environment.

Ms. Spingarn’s class made a worm bin in their classroom. Kids bring fruit and vegetables to school to put in the worm bin.

I asked two students what they thought about the worm bin in their classroom. One said, “I think that it is really cool because the worms are gooey.” The other one said, “I think it is really gross.”

Here are the steps for you to make your own worm bin: First, get a plastic bag and fill it halfway with dirt that has worms in it. Second, put a little bit of fruit inside the plastic bag. Make sure that you don’t put too much food inside, because the worms can die if they eat too much food. Third, close the plastic bag with a rubber band. (You can also close it with other things.) Fourth, make sure that you add a little bit of fruit into the worm bin every day. Fifth, have fun making your worm bin!
