Have you noticed the new mosaic planters in town? Well, they’re not totally new. The planters have been there for a while, but they were recently beautified with colorful mosaic tiles. Various Montclair businesses have sponsored the unique planters.

I interviewed Gina Dominguez, the owner of Snapshot Mosaics in Montclair Village, and the artist behind the planters. I learned that she just completed her fifteenth planter! I also learned that the Lions Club sponsored the first three planters, and many other businesses have followed them.

I asked Gina Dominguez why she chose to devote so much time to this project. “I just want to make Montclair a more beautiful place, and somewhere that people would want to visit,” she said. I really appreciate all the hard work she is doing for our Village of Montclair, and all of the businesses who have sponsored her beautiful mosaic planters. Next time you walk through Montclair Village, look at all the planters, and try to find your favorite one!

For more information on Snapshot Mosaics, visit their shop in Montclair Village (6206 La Salle Avenue) or their website, www.snapshotmosaics.com.
